  I am with OTWO also. Growing up a JW it was all I knew but the last time we went through the book it was harder and harder to make sense of it.

  Also the door to door work and everyone has to do it. We had a lot of mentality ill JW's in my hall who were on meds for it. They were so strange and made no sense talking at the doors. But they felt they had to go out in service. The Witness are always so afraid of bringing sham on Jehovah's name yet they wanted someone who would not shower and smelled, who mumbled and made no sense with what he says to go to peoples homes to tell them about Jehovah???

  Question for Bethelites and former Bethelites

  according to paul blizzard, there were a lot of drunken parties and a lot of drinking at bethel back when he was a bethelite around the 1970's or 1980's (http://www.watchthetower.com/).

  out of curiosity, does this stuff still go on today?

  for any of the more recent bethelites, can you describe what your experience was like serving in bethel?.

  I was there 91-94 and yes a lot of drinking and this was from the ones who were in their 30's, 40's and 50's. I saw some get really loaded. I think Frank75 hit the nail on the head when he said "it was their only escape along with Prozac."

  Anybody Know What Presiding Overseer's are Being Told at Bethel School ?

  i guess there is a special training school going on for presiding overseers according to my jw mom.

  my elder brother went back there for a week training session .

  he explained that they are doing this training first in the united states only for presiding overseers and if it works out well - they'll implement it across the world in other countries.. apparently he stated that the training they are getting is very detailed and to the point.

  The more they ban something and keep harping on how bad it is the more appealing it becomes I have heard. It makes you wonder why they keep talking about pornography all the time. It is almost like they are pushing ones into it. I find it strange how much is written on pornography it is almost like they are getting off on it themselves.

  Also the PO in my hall was all excited because they told him the end of this system was very, very, very close and that is all I have heard from any of the so called friends. I do not go to the meetings but every once in while I will tie in by phone. Last week the PO was the same old jerk he always has been. Nothing profound came out of his month. Only the same stupid things he has always spewed. Honestly I do not think this man is that bright though so that may be part of it.

  Just got ahold of "secret elders meetings" notes.

  cant say how,but i am in possession of about 10 years worth of elders meetings notes.financial info,personal lists,signed letters etc.disfellowshipping meeting minutes,the works.it is unbelieveable.some of the note are "investigate so and so,she was seen at a movie,talk to sister so and so about her weight,investigate the matter between so and so and so and so etc.

  letters from circuit servant visits w/recommendatons.anyone got any ideas?there are even minutes of a meeting in which some of the elders "had words"...all in glorious initialed and signed paper.numbers,names,contributions..what should i do with this "blessing from hohoba?

  Did You Exit the Witnesses Due to Injustices / Difference with Doctrine-Both?

  many of us leave due to injustices committed inside the organization.

  i did initially.

  i had doubts about some doctrines for years - but not until after leaving the witnesses was i free to be able to confirm my suspicions and see that yes, i did have valid reasons to have doubts all those years .

  Why Would Someone Like me Leave the "Truth"? Part 4

  reason number 3 should this happen in gods chosen organisation?.

  my previous 3 posts dealing with this subject have discussed some incidents that played an important part in my waking up to the fact that i was part of a high control cult ,called by its members the truth.

  these events were not entirely responsible for my exit, but they added to a portfolio of doubts that i had subconsciously filed away in the wait on jehovah drawer.
